Banks to facilitate taxpayers

ISLAMABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has decided to keep authorised bank branches of National Bank of Pakistan, commercial banks and the National Institute of Facili­tation Technologies (NIFT) open for extended hours to facilitate taxpayers.

NBP branches would re­­main open on June 28 and 29 till 8pm for FBR taxes/duties collection and till 10pm for cheque collection. It would remain open till 12 midnight on June 30 for government receipts and payments.

Similarly, designated bra­n­ches of commercial banks wo­uld follow normal working hours on June 28 (Satur­day), and would remain open till 10pm on June 30.

The Federal Board of Revenue has also directed all its field formations to remain open on June 28 and 29 till 8pm, and till 12 midnight on June 30.
