RAWALPINDI: A man was shot dead in Dhoke Syedan and two houses were robbed in New Town police area on Tuesday.

Syed Ibrar Hussain Shah was on way to his bakery when he was shot by gunmen on Tuesday morning.

Hearing gunfire, a resident of the area, Nasir Abbas Zaidi, came out of his home. He saw Mr Shah lying in a pool of blood.

He called the local police, who shifted Shah to the district headquarters hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim’s brother, Mazloom Hussain Shah, said in a statement that his brother had no enemies and was not involved in any monetary disputes.

When asked if the murder was linked to a robbery, the investigating officer said that there was no evidence that Shah was robbed as no cash had been taken from him.

Meanwhile, four robbers forced their way into a house in Satellite Town in broad daylight on Tuesday and escaped with cash and jewellery.

In a similar incident, four robbers raided the home of Khalid Zaman in Sadiqabad and left with Rs20,000 and jewellery.
