MINGORA: Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf deceived people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the slogan of change but it could not improve any sector in the province, alleged Pakistan People’s Party women wing provincial president Asma Alamgir here on Tuesday.

Addressing an election rally in Sheen area, she said that PPP was the party of poor and it would not leave people alone in a difficult situation. “We made Swat and other parts of Malakand division peaceful,” she claimed.

Ms Alamgir said that the previous government of PPP took decisions in better interest of the people. “It is the results of our decisions that today political activities are getting momentum in Swat,” she added.

The PPP leader said that people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gave mandate to PTI for bringing change but it could not bring any change during its about one-year rule. She said that both federal and provincial governments were weak and could not take decisions for restoration of peace in the country.

Ms Alamgir said that people would not accept wrong decisions. She said that Malakand division would soon become a mini Larkana of PPP. The government disappointed people by its poor performance, she added.

Speaking on the occasion, former federal minister Arbab Alamgir said that PTI-led provincial government was on weak wicket and it could not take decisions to resolve issues of people. He said that they committed some mistakes in the past but they would never repeat the same in future.

He said that all decisions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were taken by unelected people. Situation in the province was so worse that some of the PTI lawmakers raised voice against their own government and formed a pressure group.

PPP leader Dr Afsarul Mulk, People’s Youth provincial president Ijaz Khan and PPP candidate for PK-86 seat Shahi Khan also spoke on the occasion.
