KARACHI: No student for the Master of Science degree shall be allowed by the University of Karachi in future to offer [an exam in] a subject in which he has not graduated.

This along with some other important changes have been made by the Governor of West Pakistan, Malik Amir Mohammad Khan, who is also the Chancellor of the Karachi University, through amendments in Statute No 26 (14), in exercise of powers under the University of Karachi Ordinance, 1962.

According to the amendments, the M.Sc. Previous examination, except in Statistics, shall consist of five papers of which at least four shall be identical with four papers of the B.Sc. Honours examination. In the practical examination, 15 marks will be reserved for Viva Voce and 10 marks for the note book.

As far as the course for the Honours Degree of Bachelor of Science is concerned, the principal subject, except Statistics, shall consist of eight papers each of 100 marks. Each subsidiary subject shall consist of two papers each of 100 marks and each compulsory subject shall consist of one paper of 100 marks.
