FAISALABAD: The district government has decided to arrest focal persons of public and private entities if dengue larva is found in their respective premises.

The decision was made at a meeting with DCO Noorul Amin Mengal in the chair here on Wednesday.

It was decided that owners of premises would also be held responsible if garbage, debris and stagnant water was detected in and around industrial units, factories, commercial buildings and other institutions. The DCO stressed upon focusing special attention on stocking of fish in the water bodies and parks and other public and private institutions.

He said meetings of Town Emergency Response Committees should be held on alternative days to discuss the target and review of performance and achievements.

Provincial Coordinator for Dengue Control Programme Dr Waseem Akram informed participants about the use of medicines against dengue larva and asked health department officials to compile a data of dengue suspects.
