Explosion in Rawalpindi injures one

RAWALPINDI: A person was injured as a result of a bomb device exploding near a school in Rawalpindi’s Ratta Amral area on Wednesday, DawnNews reported.

According to DawnNews sources, the bomb device exploded near Islamic School No 3 on Babu Lal Hussain Road in Ratta Amral, leaving a pedestrian injured.

The injured person was hit with ball bearings on several body parts.

On receiving information, police and rescue team personnel reached the site of incident and shifted the wounded person to a hospital.

Meanwhile, Bomb Disposal Squad personnel gathered evidence from the scene as investigation of the incident went underway.

Rawalpindi is the military headquarters of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
