SUKKUR: A tribal court (Jirga) held in Behalkani village near Tangwani on Sunday imposed a fine of Rs600,000 on two men after they were found guilty of have extramarital affairs with a woman belonging to their own tribe.

The Jirga, chaired by Ali Sher Dahani and attended by a large number of Behalkani tribesmen, was convened to settle the two-month old dispute between two groups of Behalkanis.

After hearing both sides, Mr Dahani pronounced his decree which was accepted by the two sides.

He ordered Khawand Bukhsh Behalkani and Ali Nawaz Behalkani to pay a fine of Rs600,000 to the aggrieved party, Qadir Bukhsh Behalkani.

The guilty paid Rs100,000 to the aggrieved party on the spot and undertook to pay off the remaining amount in three instalments within the next three months.
