KARACHI: Fit-again paceman Umar Gul was on Saturday inducted into the Pakistan squad currently engaged in the One-day International series against Sri Lanka in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) media release, Umar, who was playing for Habib Bank Limited in their President’s Trophy match against Wapda, would be joining the squad in Sharjah on Sunday.

The national selection committee after consulting the Pakistan team management decided to send Umar who has been out of reckoning since the tour of South Africa in February-March, and then underwent a knee surgery in Australia in May.

The 29-year-old Umar has claimed 161 wickets in 116 ODIs since making his debut against Zimbabwe at Sharjah in April 2003. He has also bagged 163 wickets in 47 Tests and another 74 in 52 Twenty20 Internationals.
