SUKKUR, Nov 10: To settle a Karo-kari dispute between two groups of the Banglani community, a Jirga was held in the village of Ghulam Muhammad Bijarani Jamal near Tangwani in district Kandhkot-Kashmore on Sunday.

According to reports reaching here, the Jirga proceedings, largely attended by the supporters of the groups of Jamal Banglani and Ibrahim Banglani, was chaired by an elder, Jahangir Banglani.

After hearing statements of the two sides, the allegation of Karo was proved against the Jamal Banglani group and the Jirga in its verdict imposed a Rs6,00,000 fine which the accused accepted. They paid Rs50,000 on the spot to their rivals and promised to pay the remaining amount in three monthly instalments.

After the peaceful settlement of the dispute, the people of the two groups hugged each other.
