Over population

This is with reference to the letter ‘Over population’ by Pawan Kumar Panchani (YW, July, 27, 2013). It’s true that population is increasing rapidly in our country and this has become an obstacle in the way of our economic progress. With a reasonable population growth rate, we too can prosper like western countries.

Seven habits of effective students

Young World has always inspired me to acquire knowledge and useful skills to improve myself. I admire your team’s efforts in giving children information and knowledge.

I would also like to comment on the article ‘Seven habits of effective students’ by Ambreen Arshad published on August 24, 2013. The article was really thought-provoking especially for those students who consider studies a burden and don’t realise the fact that education is the key to a successful and prosperous life.

Today we can see that the younger generation is leading the world — there are young politicians, CEOs and scientists. These individuals took their studies seriously, worked hard and proved their talent. The strategies to study efficiently shared by the writer are quite useful and if followed by a consistent approach, it can help us become successful.

The magic word

This is with reference to the story ‘The magic word’ by Kausar Javed (YW, August 24, 2013). The story, in a very beautiful way, conveyed an important lesson. Many children feel offended when they have to make a request for their wishes to be fulfilled, but they don’t realise that it’s our attitude that can either make us loved by everyone or vice versa.

So, we should never feel ashamed in showing polite behaviour — it doesn’t make us weak, rather it shows the strength of our character.

Quiz

I truly appreciate Young World team’s efforts for publishing informative things for young children. My favourite section in the magazine is Quiz.

I eagerly wait for Saturdays so that I can get Young World’s copy and solve the quiz. I wholeheartedly thank you for bringing to us such useful information every week.

Rule by law

‘The rule of law’ is being weaponised, taking on whatever meaning that fits the political objectives of those invoking it.
