KARACHI, Aug 23: Funeral prayers for Lance Naik Tariq Alam killed in the Thursday night blast were offered here in Malir on Friday.
Corps commander Lt Gen Mohammed Ajaz Chaudhary, senior military officers and a large number of soldiers attended the funeral, Inter Services Public Relations sources said.
They said that Lance Naik Alam lost his life while he was performing his election duty when an improvised explosive device planted along a road went off, leaving 10 soldiers and six civilians injured.
Later, the corps commander visited the military hospital and inquired after the health of the injured, it was added. —APP
