As the British open begins on Thursday at the Muirfield Golf Links in Scotland, many expect Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els or Rory McIlroy bulldozing their way through the course and winning the Claret Jug awarded for first place.

Muirfield has had several greats as winners in the past, including Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Tom Watson and Nick Faldo.

But anyone, though, even minnows, can create a huge upset for the giants and win the British open golf championship. — Text by Dara Sanwal
