NAWABSHAH, July 14: A man strangulated his teenaged daughter to death in the name of honour in his house in Afzaal Shah town in the jurisdiction of B-Section police station on Sunday.

Abdul Sattar Afridi, who was arrested by police, confessed to killing his daughter Aisha, 18, and said he had given her hand to his nephew Feroz Khan five months ago but she ran away with one Muneer Malikani and got married to him just a few days ahead of Rukhsati.

He said that he managed to get back his daughter through some notables of the area and tried his best to persuade her to marry Feroz but she refused stubbornly. He was enraged at her attitude and strangulated her to death with her dupatta, he said.—BoC

There is no honour in this. The title of this article should read '' father murdered his own daughter''. Should not glorify these acts of murder. Just saying.

This father pretends to protect his honor but did not honor the Islamic right of his daughter to marry the man of her choice. He is an illiterate in Quran. He needs to know that accroding to the Quran it's the daughter who chooses the man she likes to marry with. A woman is allowed to ask for the mehr from a man of her choice and if he offers the right amount (even zero rupees), and she accepts it willingly, then it's no body's business (not even the parents) to interfere with their relationship or marriage.

This is not a human being we are reading about, he is the devil himself.

And we claim to be civilised muslims?. A father killing his daughter in he name of honour. Why must the daughters sacrifice their lives?. Why can't fathers be more sympathetic to their daughter's wishes?

This is the true face of Pakistan, what a shameful act. He should be "hang till death" but I know he won't be because its Pakistan.
