SHEIKHUPURA, July 11: A ruling party MPA allegedly tried to sexually assault a grade-16 veterinarian and also slapped her at his residence on Thursday.

Dr Sana approached MPA Arif Khan Sandhila and demanded that she be transferred at Ferozewattwan veterinary centre. The MPA informed the doctor that a grade-17 employee was eligible for the post and she did not qualify for it. The doctor insisted that the MPA should play a role in her transfer and the latter allegedly slapped her in a rush of blood. The doctor alleged that the MPA also tried to sexually harass her.

The MPA later held a press conference and denied the allegations. He said Dr Sana was just like his daughter and he could not even think of such an act. He said his political rivals had launched a smear campaign against him.

CASE: The Muridke Sadar police on Thursday registered a case against two factory owners on the allegation of stealing gas directly from the main supply lines.

The SNGPL regional raiding team conducted raid at a steel mills on Sheikhupura-Muridke Road near Bhattianwala stop and found the gas theft.

The police registered a case against Idrees and Awais.
