The quoted words of numerous famous personalities in ‘Golden words’ impress me a lot! I hope that the YW team will continue publishing the quotations of the great personalities, which always motivate an individual to act upon them.

Bookmarks come in various sizes and colours with different cartoon characters printed on them. Apart from cartoons, there may be images of many famous authors too. The most common type of bookmark is the paper bookmark. They are made out of paper and can be torn easily or wet. My favourite type of bookmarks is the digital bookmark. Digital bookmarks are linked to modern technology. They are made out of hard plastic and operate on cell. It has three buttons for mode, minutes, hours, with another button for “Start” and “Stop”. While reading one can keep track of time and see how long he has been reading. It has a stopwatch and one can set an alarm too. Since it is made out of plastic, it can’t get torn or wet.

“Fashion is something barbarous, for it produces innovation without reason and imitation without benefit,” this was said by George Santayana and he is not wrong. The word ‘fashion’ just doesn’t mean the current fashion of clothes, it means a lot of things such as the style of talking, walking, sitting, behaving and living. I think that the worst thing that ever happened to Earth was fashion. The saying ‘All that glitters is not gold’ is a very old yet a very true saying. This means that an attractive appearance is not necessarily evidence of intrinsic value. It is not necessary to follow fashion and your friends. You should always keep in mind to be yourself and whatever others think or say about you should have no effect on your personality.

Young World is a very good magazine for children. It is my humble request to you to add light activities for kids in the magazine such as colouring section, art and crafts, etc. Also include reviews of some fine art related websites. This is vacation time and we want some cool activities for spending our free time.
