ATTACK on the polio team in Peshawar has again resulted in the death of a woman polio worker. PTI Chairman Imran Khan has condemned this attack in strong words, saying that such attacks are not at all acceptable.

Here I would like to suggest that the polio team should be accompanied by the area MNA or MPA and some prominent political figure of the ruling party or coalition and the area SHO.

This will not only encourage the polio team members but would be instrumental in providing adequate security to the polio campaign as all these people carry a large number of security staff with them.

However, I know that this would not happen as it is much easier to issue a statement while sitting in airconditioned rooms than to practically face the challenge. However, these women have no option other than accept such life-risking job because they must earn livelihood for themselves and their families no matter if they lose their lives in this process.

This is really tragic as health care workers will be scared for their life.this is most despicable religious extremism denying children getting life threatening polio vaccine.i hope sane voices prevail may be mullahs should issue fatwas supporting vaccination to prevent polio.
