EVERY year some relief is allowed to retired and working employees in the annual budgets of federal and provincial governments with there being a huge difference in pensions and salaries.

In the case of pension, 10 per cent has been increased on pensions drawn monthly by retired employees.

Pensions remain fixed ever since retirement whereas the salary structure of working employees is changed after every few years and salaries increased hugely.

So if their salary is increased annually in the budget, they get a huge increase as well.

My request to the policy makers is that the increase in pensions be made according to the pensioners’ grades.
