Well before the weekend rush, Man of Steel, the newly rebooted adaptation of the popular DC Comic superhero was shown to select invitees including celebrities, at the film’s premiere on Wednesday, June 19, at Atrium Cinemas, Karachi.

Preluding the event, a ‘Black Carpet’ event was held by Nokia – Man of Steel’s official global partner, and the invitee of Dawn.com – which was organised by Asim Quraishi’s Brand Cinema. Attending celebrities included Asif Raza Mir, Sohail Javed, Faisal Quraishi, Iraj Manzoor, and Tapu Javeri amongst others.

The motion picture, which broke the all-time June box office record by besting Toy Story 3’s $110 million, has grossed $226 million internationally at the box office, to date.

During a summer of big-budget pop-corn movies, Man of Steel, starring Henry Cavill of Showtime Television’s Tudors and 2011’s fantasy actioner The Immortals, has a lot of weight riding on its success.

The movie is playing in cinemas across Pakistan from Friday, June 21 onwards.
