QUETTA: At least three people were arrested and arms were seized from their possession on Tuesday during a search operation carried out by security forces in parts of Quetta.

Frontier Corps (FC) personnel launched the operation on a tip-off regarding the presence of militants in several areas of Quetta. Three suspects were subsequently arrested in the operation.

Moreover, three hand grenades, 900 rounds of short machines guns (SMG), 200 pistols, false official stamps and nine number plates were recovered during the raid.

The suspects were said to be members of a car-jacking gang, although a source in the FC said they were involved in terrorist activities.
