GUJAR KHAN, May 12: Daultala town remains tense, as four persons who were killed as a consequence of firing between political rivals on polling day were buried on Sunday night.

According to sources, polling day violence led to the death of four people, who have been identified as Mohammad Hanif, Mohammad Aslam, Dost Mohammad and Atif, residents of Daultala town, who were supporting PML-N.

The police have registered a murder case against six persons, including Chaudhry Sajid Mahmood, candidate of PTI from PP-4 seat, his younger brother Chaudhry Zahid Waheed Ahmed and Usman.

The killing of four people has widened the gap between the Gujar clan and migrants, who were already politically divided.

The exchange of fire between the rivals continued during Saturday night, however, an SP from Rawalpindi had the situation under control by late night.

A complete shutterdown strike was observed on Sunday and it was expected that this strike would continue for an indefinite period.

Heavy contingents of police have been deployed in Daultala to avert any further clashes, while SHO Jatli has been suspended by the city police officer.
