NOTE:
1: All the contractual rates are valid for one calendar year only.
2: Fixed positions will be first come first served basis subjected to the availability of the position.
For other fixed/special position 25% extra will be charged over the applicable rates.
3: Bleed/cut flash advertisements are not acceptable.
4: Cancellation charges will be followed according to the terms and conditions.
Herald - Terms and Conditions
1. Acceptance of advertisements is subject to the approval of the Management.
2. The Management reserves the right to refuse and/or, suspend publication of any advertisement without giving any reasons.
3. All advertisements are accepted in good faith. The Management accepts no responsibility regarding the bona fides of the advertisers.
4. To avoid misprints, advertisers are requested in their own interest, to ensure that all the copy and release instructions are legible, preferably typed.
5. The Management accepts no responsibility if, after advising the advertiser or it's agents that the material supplied is defective, the advertiser or it's agents fail to: i) provide new material, or ii) give written instructions to withhold insertions of the advertisements. Under these circumstances, the Management reserves the right to dismiss any claims for a free insertion on the grounds of faulty reproduction.
6. Management accepts no liability in the event of damage to or loss of artworks, film positives, etc.
7. Advertisement space contracts shall be irrevocable, failure to it will be billed according to the actual number of insertions or be casual rates.
8. Special or fixed positions cannot be guaranteed without the payment of extra charges as mentioned.
9. All advertisements will be published and invoiced on the basis of the rates, terms and conditions printed in this rate card and without further notification.
10. No agent or advertiser may stipulate any terms and conditions contrary to the rules under which advertisements are accepted. Any such stipulations will be disregarded.
11. In the event of a dispute, Karachi (Pakistan) will be the place of jurisdiction for legal purposes.
12. When special issues have been agreed on special issue terms, care will be taken to ensure the advertisement appears on the specified issue. However, no guarantee is implied in the contract.
Any advertisement which for any reason, fails to be published on a fixed position or issue, as per the special terms, will be billed at the applicable rate as published.
13. If an advertiser fails for any reason to: i) settle invoices on a regular basis or ii) comply with the terms of this rate card, the Management reserves the right to suspend the publication of outstanding advertisements and undertake proceedings to recover all invoices due. Furthermore, the publication of any advertisement on behalf of an advertiser who has failed to settle invoices will not infringe on the Management's right to prosecute.
14. The Management will endeavor to avoid printing competitive advertisements in close proximity to each other. However, no guarantee is given in this respect.
15. No deductions will be given for alleged defective insertions. Any claim in this regard, if accepted, will be in the form of a make-good insertion printed at the Management convenience. To be considered, claims for make-good advertisements, must be made within seven days of the publication of the alleged defective insertions and the advertisement material should not have been removed from Herald's office.
16. Combined advertisement conditions: (i) Date of combined advertisement should be mentioned in the R.O., which should be the same month in any of the two publication (Dawn and Herald).(ii) Advertisement should be of the same nature i.e. 4 colour advertisement against 4 colour and not against Black & white. (iii) Combined advertisement should be accepted with Dawn Regular issue only, i.e. not against The Review, Magazine, Images or Supplement. (iv) Size of the advertisement should not be less than 20cms x 3 cols. (in Dawn).
