KARACHI, April 11: A court sentenced on Thursday a man to five years in prison in a robbery case.

The court found Danish Denial guilty of robbing complainant Danish Siddiqui of cash and other valuables in June 2011.

The assistant additional district and sessions judge (east), Sarwat Sultana, pronounced the judgement after recording evidence and arguments from both sides.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs20,000 and in case of a default he would undergo an additional one-month imprisonment.

The accused was produced in custody in court and the court extending the benefit of Section 382-B of the criminal procedure code remanded him back to prison to serve out the remainder of his sentence.—Staff Reporter
