SUKKUR, Feb 14: Jacobabad police claimed on Thursday to have arrested a hardened criminal carrying head money of Rs500,000.

DSP of Saddar police station Muhammad Sadique Odho told a press conference that accused Farman Ali, son of Qurban Ali Thaheem, was on his way along with his other accomplices when policemen patrolling the area of the Shambi Shah Road tried to arrest him, but the outlaws opened fire.

When the police retaliated, Farman’s accomplices fled, leaving him behind. Police arrested him and recovered a TT pistol from his possession.

He said the arrested suspect was wanted in 32 cases of heinous crimes registered against him at different police stations of Hyderabad.—BoC
