LAHORE, Dec 17: A 12-year-old balloon-seller was tortured and shot dead by his customer near Shalamar Chowk on Monday, Baghbanpura police said.

Suspect Akbar bought a balloon from Waqas and later thrashed and killed him when he demanded money.

Waqas was the son of Azhar, of Kotli Peer Abdur Rehman.

Onlookers tried to save the boy from Akbar, but he killed the minor and fled.

The police shifted the body to morgue for an autopsy. A case was registered against the runaway suspect on the complaint of victim’s uncle Ilyas.

ACCIDENT: A 20-year-old man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding hit an electricity pole in North Cantonment area on Monday.

The police said the youth, not identified yet, died of speeding factor.
