THATTA, Dec 11: Sixteen policemen, including a sub-inspector and an assistant sub-inspector posted in the district police office, Thatta, were booked on Tuesday for their alleged involvement in facilitating escape of an undertrial prisoner from the courtyard of the sessions court.

Dodo Jakhro, arrested in a number of cases pertaining to robberies, was produced before the civil judge-III of the sessions court, Thatta, on Monday but he somehow managed to escape from the courtyard.

An FIR against SI Rustam Khwaja, ASI Mohammed Rafi Khwaja, head constable Noor Ahmed and constables Rano Khan, Namrez Akhter, Rasheed Ahmed, Zainul Abedin, Gul Mohammed, Allahdino, Mehboob Ali, Niaz Hussain, Ali Dino, Haider Bux and Ghulam Rasool was registered for their alleged complicity in the prisoner’s escape.
