LAHORE, Nov 19: Two people, including an alleged criminal, were murdered in different parts of the city on Monday.

Samanabad police said four people allegedly shot dead 35-year-old Yasir Aslam of Muslim Road at Mini Market and fled the scene. The victim was having a meal at a hotel along with his 12-year-old son Danial and Samanabad police ASI Muhammad Amin when four people, riding on bikes, approached them and shot Yasir who died on the spot.

Police inquiries showed that Yasir, who had criminal background, had moved an application to the Samanabad police against a woman. ASI Muhammad Amin visited his residence and asked him to lead police to the woman’s house.

But before the victim could lead the ASI to the house, they were attacked by the suspects.

The victim’s wife had nominated one Mudassir in the FIR, stating that the accused had already been booked in a case lodged by Yasir over a monetary dispute. She said Mudassir had been jailed in the past.

Police shifted the body for autopsy and began investigation.

Shahdara Town police said 28-year-old Imtiaz was found shot dead at his residence near Civil Hospital. Police shifted the body for autopsy to ascertain whether the victim was murdered or it was a suicide case.

The family told the police that unidentified people had killed Imtiaz and escaped after dropping the weapon at the spot. — Staff Reporter
