SANGHAR, Nov 8: A woman was shot dead on Thursday, while a man was wounded in a gun attack, apparently in the name of honour, in Abdul Rehman village, around 15 kilometres from here.

The woman was identified as 25-year-old Benazir Gabol and the wounded as Muhammad Siddique Magsi.

Ms Gabol’s body was handed over to the relatives after medico-legal formalities were completed at the Civil Hospital Sanghar while Mr Magsi was admitted to a rural health centre in Jhol.

An FIR was lodged by the father of the deceased, Khamiso Gabol, against Ms Gabol’s uncle, Sonaro Gabol, and another man named Soobal Gabol.

Both have been booked under Sections 302 (premeditated murder), 324 (attempted murder) and 34 (common intent) of the Pakistan Penal Code. Sonaro Gabol is in police custody.

The deceased had recently moved here with her family from upper Sindh and was unmarried.
