HYDERABAD, Oct 25: The Naseem Nagar police on Thursday registered a second FIR pertaining to the murder of a well-known local singer, Master Manzoor alias Qadir Hussain, against his brother, son two sisters and two unknown persons.

The SHO concerned, Zafar Abbas Wakko, said that the new FIR was registered on the complaint of the deceased’s wife, Ms Afshan, on the order of the additional sessions judge-VI, Hyderabad, under sections 302, 395 and 448 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The complainant has nominated Mushtaq Ali, his son Mohsin, sisters Safia Sultana and Mumtaz Babi, besides two unknown persons as killers, he added.

On Wednesday, Ms Afshan had held a press conference at the local press club and appealed to the judiciary to take suo motu notice of her husband’s murder, order the registration of an FIR of the case and ensuring protection for her and her children.

The woman, accompanied by her children, Ali Haider, Shahrukh, Subh, Khushi and Haya, alleged that her husband was killed by Mushtaq Ali.

She claimed that Mushtaq had borrowed Rs3 million from her husband and on April 22, he along with his son and sisters and two unknown persons visited Master Manzoor at home to tell him that he could not return the money. After heated arguments between the two brothers, Mushtaq shot him dead with his pistol,” she added.

Ms Afshan further stated that Mushtaq took away her four-year-old son, Shahrukh, as well as cash and jewellery worth Rs2.9 million, documents of a car and some other valuables. “He threatened to kill Shahrukh if I leaked out anything to anyone,” she alleged.

She said that Mushtaque lodged the FIR of his brother’s murder against unknown persons at the Naseem Nagar police station but a couple of days back, he withdrew it and handed over Shahrukh to her.

She said Mushtaq was still threatening to kill her and her children if she tried to lodge a case against him.

She said she had earlier filed an application with the district and sessions court, Hyderabad, for the registration of her FIR against Mushtaq and recovery of cash and valuables from him. She said although the court ordered the SHO concerned to register the FIR, but the police officer was not obliging her because Mushtaq was an officer in the Hyderabad deputy commissioner’s office. She said that the SHO, DSP, SSP and other police officers were not cooperating with her for the same reason.
