NAWABSHAH, Oct 24: The Anti-Terrorism Court, Nawabshah, on Wednesday granted bail to 18 activists of nationalist parties arrested during violent protests against the Sindh People’s Local Government Act, 2012 in certain areas of the district on Oct 1.

The court granted them bail in a sum of Rs100,000 each in three out of a total four cases whereas their bail in case No. 194/2012 registered at the A-Section police station was denied.

The court fixed Nov 8 for the next hearing and sent the suspects back to prison.

The violence left an activist of a nationalist party dead and many others including policemen wounded.

The Airport police station and several vehicles were set on fire during the violence.—BoC
