NAWABSHAH, Oct 23: Armed robbers stormed into the house of a Hindu businessman on Tuesday and deprived him and his family of cash and jewellery worth Rs15 million.

The incident is being described as one of the biggest robberies in Nawabshah in recent years.

Police said that five robbers entered the house of Jhamandas, held the family at gunpoint and looted gold ornaments worth Rs14.6 million and Rs500,000 cash and escaped.

Though the victim family repeatedly called Madadgar helpline 15, no one attended their calls and came to their rescue.

Shaheed Benazirabad SSP Ghulam Mustafa Korai visited the spot and suspended the officer in charge of Madadgar 15.

Anjuman-i-Tajiran president Haji Abdul Qayyum Qureshi also met the victim businessman and demanded immediate arrest of the robbers and recovery of the looted valuables.
