LAHORE, Oct 9: Robbers looted cash and valuables worth Rs2.6 million in six major hits in the city while traders of Shadbagh lodged a protest against increasing robbery incidents on Tuesday.

Two armed men looted Rs400,000 from iron merchant Umair Butt near his shop in Shadbagh police limits.

Soon after the incident, traders gathered on a road and protested against police failure to check robberies.

Two robbers waylaid the family of Shahzad in Garden Town and deprived them of cash and valuables worth Rs600,000. Two gun-toting men approached the family of Atif in Nawab Town police limits and deprived them of Rs33,000 and gold ornaments.

Two robbers stopped the family of Hasan in Johar Town and snatched cash and valuables worth Rs400,00. Armed men stormed into the house of Rameez in Garden Town and took away cash and valuables worth Rs400,000.

Some robbers entered the shop of Khurram in Islampura and escaped after looting cash and cloth.
