Teenager shot dead

KARACHI, Oct 2: A teenager was killed in a PIB Colony area near Karachi central prison on Tuesday, police said.

They added that Inayatullah, 19, was going on his motorcycle when gunmen, also riding a motorbike, opened fire on him in Ghausia Colony within the remit of the New Town police station.

The victim suffered three bullet wounds and died on the spot.

DSP Nasir Lodhi said that the victim suffered a fatal bullet wound in the head causing his instant death.

The victim used to work for a local cable operator besides running a local shop of savoury items.

Sources in the police said that the victim had links with a suspected gangster Ahmed Magsi, who is said to be affiliated with several gangs operating in Lyari. The police suspected that the killing was related to his links with gangsters.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.—Staff Reporter
