ISLAMABAD, Sept 22: In another case of honour killing in the city, a man and a woman from Swabi — who had eloped — were murdered in the capital, here on Saturday, police said.

The incident came to light when the woman’s father and uncle approached the police and informed them about the double-murder. However, they failed to satisfy the police from where they got the information of the murder and the location of the victims.

The police said that the woman had previously married a man in Swabi, in late 2010, in the village of Chota Lahore.

Her husband at the time, who was working in Dubai, left Pakistan after the marriage and later the woman – FB – eloped with the villager – IK – after only nine months of her marriage.

In response, a case was registered against the villager – IK — on charge of PPC 365-B (kidnapping a woman for marriage) in Chota Lahore police station of Swabi, on August 22, 2011 and since then there whereabouts were not known.

The location of the victim was traced on Saturday, after the woman’s father and uncle approached the Sabzi Mandi Police that she along with the man was murdered in a hut in Afghan Basti (village), near Sabzi Mandi.

The police reached the hut with the help of the father and uncle, located at an isolated place of the village, on top of a small hill. The victims’ bodies were found on different beds.
