HYDERABAD, Sept 16: A man died and another one suffered injures when they were hit by stray bullets on the Station Road near Tilak Incline here on Sunday as soon as protesters taking part in processions against the hate film resorted to aerial firing.

The deceased was identified as Lal Khan Solangi, 34, and the injured as Amir Masih. They were hit as soon as aerial firing started.

They were taken to Hyderabad Civil Hospital where Lal Khan was pronounced dead on arrival and Amir was admitted.

Medico legal officer Dr Hotumal said that a bullet hit Lal Khan in the head which proved fatal. The body was handed over to heirs after post mortem, he said.

Lal Khan was an electrician and lived in Hussain Bux Rind village near Zeal Pak Colony while Amir was a sweeper in the Civil Hospital and lived in the hospital’s residential colony.

Another three persons, identified as Safdar, Mohammad Afzal, and Qamaruzzaman, also sustained bullet injuries at Hala Naka.

They were taken to the civil hospital, where their condition was stated to be out of danger.
