KARAK, Sept 11: The Karak police claimed arresting the ringleader of a kidnappers’ gang after an encounter in the Shinghar hills and recovering heavy weapons from him.

Police sources informed on Tuesday that District Police Officer Sajjad Khan on a tip-off directed DSP Takht-i-Nusrati Riazuddin and SHO Yousaf Khan along with Quick Response Force and elite force to raid the hideout of the kidnappers in the Shingher hills.

On seeing the police, the outlaws started firing over the police party. The police retaliated and in the exchange of fire, which continued for at least four hours, the ringleader of Banochi group, Ihsanullah, was arrested in injured condition.

Police recovered one Kalashnikov, three magazines and live rounds from his possession. Other members of the gang managed to escape.

Later, DPO Sajjad Khan informed the media persons that the said ringleader was involved in the killing of ASI Habib Nawaz and in disturbing peace of Takht-i-Nusrati.

BOK BRANCH: The Bank of Khyber opened its branch in Karak city on Tuesday.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony the executive director of the bank Javed Hashmat said it was the 69th branch of the bank in the country. He resolved to open more branches in each city of the country and provide better services to clients.

PTI MARCH: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf provincial leader Asad Qaisar has said the proposed march to Waziristan would be held to condemn the drone attacks and express solidarity with the innocent people killed in such attacks.

Speaking to PTI workers at Town Hall Karak on Tuesday, he said the political forces in power had miserably failed to protect the sovereignty of the country.
