Kidnapper, rapists nabbed

TAXILA, Sept 2: The Hassanabdal police on Sunday claimed to have arrested two persons who kidnapped a 14-year-old house maid and gang raped her for days.

Police sources said that Mohammad Arif along with Ahsan Rehman kidnapped 14-year-old A. from Hazara road, when she was coming back home after working as house maid on August 25.

They took her in a house in Dhoke Maskeen and assaulted her for days and later shifted her to Haripur in a Suzuki van and kept her in illegal confinement there, when police on a tip-off raided the location and recovered the girl besides arresting both the accused.

A case has been registered against the accused after medical examination of the victim girl. — Correspondent

Minor drowns in water tank

TAXILA, Sept 2: A one-and-a-half-year-old boy drowned in an underground water tank in Wahdat Colony area in limits of Taxila police station on Sunday.

Police sources said that Barkatullah, one-and-a-half-year-old boy of an IDP family shifted from Waziristan was playing in the house when he mistakenly fell in the underground water tank located in his house.

His body was retrieved from the water after half an hour and taken to local hospital where he was pronounced dead.— Correspondent

Man killed

ATTOCK, Sept 2: A man was killed in a road accident near Rangli village on Kohat-Pindi Road of Jand police station Mohammad Shafi, 75, was crossing the road near Rangli village on Saturday when he was hit by a speeding coach.

He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Jand where he died. —Correspondent

Body found

ISLAMABAD, Sept 2: A decomposed body of a woman was found in Krung Nullah at Sharifabad while a man committed suicide here, police said.

In the first incident, some villagers spotted the body stuck in the boulder at the nullah and informed the police, which shifted it to hospital for legal process and pending identification.

The victim was said to be in her late 30s, the police said, adding the body seems to be 15 to 20 days old.

In another incident a man committed suicide by hanging himself with the ceiling of an under construction house at Thanda Pani.
