KARACHI, Aug 31: Three persons, including a woman, were shot dead in the city on Friday.

Police said that a woman was shot dead in Baldia Town near a filling station in Gulshan-i-Mazdoor within the remit of the Saeedabad police station.

They said that motorcyclists targeted the woman and fled. She died while being taken to the Civil Hospital. She suffered four bullet wounds.

The police said that the victim was identified as Annie, wife of Tariq Baloch. She was a resident of Nayabad Street No 10 and came to Gulshan-i-Mazdoor to meet someone.

Saeedabad SHO Chaudhry Irshad said that the victim’s husband was an alleged gangster and arrested in connection with his involvement in the killing of six men in Mushrraf Colony a few months ago.

Man shot dead in SITE

An accountant of a warehouse was gunned down in the SITE area on Friday.

Police said that the incident took place between Haroonabad and Ghani Chowrangi within the remit of the SITE-B police station, where armed men riding a motorcycle targeted Zainul Abdin, 42, who was also on a motorbike.

He was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The victim was the accountant of a warehouse located in the Jehanabad area in Pak Colony.

The police were not sure about the motive for the killing, but suspected that the killing might have been related to some extortion demand.

Youth shot dead in Nazimabad

A young man was shot dead in Nazimabad on Friday, police said.

They said that armed men riding a motorcycle targeted Wazir Mohammad, 30, who was travelling in a rickshaw, in Nazimabad No 3 and rode away.

The victim was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Quoting some eyewitnesses, the police said that following the shooting incident, the rickshaw driver removed the victim from his tri-wheeler, left him on the road and sped away.

He was subsequently picked up by an ambulance, the police said.

The victim was a resident of Umar Colony in Baldia Town No.14 and originally hailed from Quetta.

He had two wives, one in Karachi and the other in Quetta.

The police suspected some personal enmity as a likely motive for the killing.

Man kills uncle in Lyari

A man allegedly shot his maternal uncle dead after an altercation at his house in Ali Mohammad Mohallah within the remit of the Baghdadi police station on Friday.

Police said that Zohaib, an alleged Lyari gangster, fired at his uncle Dilshad Dahani after having an altercation with him and fled from the house. He was shifted to the Civil Hospital where the victim was pronounced dead. Victim’s cousin Murad Baloch told some newsmen at the hospital that Dilshad was the bureau chief of a daily in Gwadar and had come to the city two days back to attend a journalist body programme. He was staying at the house of his sister in Lyari.

Body found

The body of an unidentified young man was found in a deserted place within the jurisdiction of the Manghopir police station on Friday.

Police said that the body was found in the bushes near Hamdard University.

He had suffered a head injury.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Later, it was shifted to the Edhi morgue for a want of identification.
