KARACHI, March 23: The Sindh chapter of Jamaat-i-Islami on Friday organised province-wide demonstrations and rallies against the government's reported intention to reopen supply routes for Nato troops stationed in Afghanistan. Participants in the rallies held in Karachi, Hyderabad Jacobabad, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Tando Adam and other towns slammed the continued US drone attacks on Pakistani soil and a heavy loss of civilian life in these attacks.

The protesters also condemned the attack on the Salala checkpost of the Pakistan Army, and demanded that Nato supply routes be permanently closed.—PPI
