Man commits suicide

RAWALPINDI, March 12: A young man committed suicide by shooting himself over a petty domestic issue in Gulbahar Colony here on Monday.

Police said Malik Noman alias Noomi was found lying in a pool of blood as his family entered his room after hearing the sound of gunshot.

Police Sub-Inspector Mohammad Hanif said Noman had an exchange of hot words with his elder sister before shooting himself.

The victim was taken to Benazir Bhutto Hospital where he died. The police are investigating the case to ascertain the actual circumstances behind the incident, said Mr Hanif.— Staff Reporter

Boy killed on road

CHAKWAL, March 12: A four-year-old boy was killed as a speeding car hit him in Sehgalabad village some 16 km from here, police said on Monday.

Fahad Ali, a resident of Dhedwal village was standing along a road in Sehgalabad with his mother and brother when the car hit him. He died at the spot.

Police have registered a case and started efforts to trace the driver of the vehicle who managed to run away from the scene. — Correspondent

Police arrest 25 ‘suspects’

ISLAMABAD, March 12:  The Sihala police on Monday conducted search operation in various localities of its jurisdiction which led to the arrest of 25 suspects and recovery of weapons, a police spokesman said.

According to details, the operation was conducted under supervision of SP (Rural) Faisal Bashir Memon to check presence of suspects in the area.

Police teams conducted checking of houses, under-construction buildings, inns and slum areas at Rawat, Chak Mohri, and Chamber Road and apprehended 25 suspects who could not produce identification document. — Staff Reporter
