LAHORE, March 3: A 55-year-old kiln employee was shot dead by unidentified people in a Manga Mandi locality early on Saturday.

Police said Ashraf of Chichawatni was returning home from work on foot when unidentified people shot him dead. Ashraf, a father of three, had been working as an accountant at a kiln for several years.

Police sent his body for an autopsy and registered a case.

SUCCUMBS: A 30-year-old vegetable seller, who was shot and wounded by unidentified people in Tezgarh locality of Manawan on Feb 21, succumbed to his wounds at a hospital on Saturday.

Manawan police said Farman of Tezgarh was going to the vegetable market on a bike at the time of the incident. Police sent his body for an autopsy and added murder section to an already registered case.

Asif, Farman’s brother, suspected involvement of Meraj Din in the murder, as Farman had a land dispute with him.

ACCIDENTS: An elderly woman was killed and two others were injured in a road accident in Mughalpura on Saturday.

Police said motorcyclist Hamza Baloch hit two women who were crossing the road near Majjanwala Adda. They suffered wounds and were rushed to Services Hospital, where Amtul Husain of Shalimar Link Road succumbed to her wounds. Hamza and Sumaira were treated at the hospital.

Also, an unidentified 60-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on The Mall. Police said the victim was walking along the road at the time of the incident.

Factory Area police said an unidentified 75-year-old man was knocked down and killed by a vehicle.
