AMRITSAR: India and Pakistan on Thursday exchanged prisoners at the Attari- Wagah border. The Indian government freed three Pakistani prisoners while the Pakistani government repatriated 19 Indians from different jails in Pakistan, the Indian Punjab Newsline network reported.

Out of 19 Indians released by the Pakistani government, 13 were fishermen who were arrested while fishing in territorial waters in the Arabian Sea by Pakistan Coast Guards.

Indian fishermen claim during fishing they did not know that their boat slipped in Pakistani waters.

The Indian Government freed three Pakistani prisoners who had crossed over to Indian territory inadvertently.
