LAHORE, Feb 11: A young man was found dead under mysterious circumstances near Rohi Drain in Hadiara on Saturday.

A Hadiara police team rushed to the spot following an emergency call and found the body of Faryad Ahmad, 22, of Chak Jhumra, Faisalabad. Police found marks of bruises on his body and claimed that it was apparently four to five days old.

Police inquiries showed that Faryad had come to his relatives in Darogawala a week ago and then disappeared.

The police suspected that unidentified person(s) killed Faryad and threw his body along Rohi Drain.

Police cell: The Lahore police Citizen Feedback Cell, working under the Discipline and Inspection branch, has contacted 1,460 citizens/complainants telephonically to ascertain citizen’s feedback regarding redressal of their grievances, particularly behavior/attitude of police.

The cell provided remedy to 110 citizens/complainants, whose complaints were not being registered by local police despite repeated visits and submission of applications to the police stations concerned. According to a handout issued here on Saturday, of 110 complaints of different police stations, almost 66 were got redressed by the cell and FIRs of said citizens were got registered in the police stations concerned as per law, whereas FIRs on remaining complaints are also being got registered after due verification of facts.

Strict departmental action against Samanabad SHO/Sub-Inspector Safdar Sajjad, Iqbal Town SHO Qamar Abbas, Nishtar Colony SHO Muhammad Akmal, Sandah SHO Tariq Mehmood, Nawankot SHO Muhammad Javed, Mughalpura SHO Shabbir Hussain Awan, Sabzazar SHO Muhammad Sharif Sindhu and Johar Town SHO Farooq Asghar Awan has been recommended to the DIG (Operations) on a large number of complaints by Discipline and Inspection SSP Sharik Kamal.
