KARACHI, Feb 9: The Dawn Media Group is organising ‘The Pakistan’s Agri Expo and Conference 2012 — the largest and most comprehensive agricultural show in the country — at the Karachi Expo Centre on Feb 11 and 12.

The two-day event is supported by the European Union and United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), in collaboration with the International Trade Centre (ITC) and World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).

On the first day of the event, a conference titled ‘agricultural competitiveness through value-addition’ is being held.

The conference will cover a wide range of topics pertaining to dairy, fisheries, horticulture, livestock and poultry. Value-addition, food traceability, enhancing quality of produce and product, export promotion, biotechnology deployment and cold chain set-up improvement will also be discussed.

The exhibition will act as a platform for products and services and a direct connection with farmers, land owners, agricultural investors, government officials, agents, distributors and exporters from across Pakistan.

The exhibition will open at 11am and continue till 7 pm on both days. Entry to the event is free.
