LAHORE: At least three more patients, including two in Services Hospital and one in Mayo Hospital of Cardiac Ailments died due to the reaction of counterfeit medicines provided by the PIC, said a spokesman of the health department here on Saturday.
The spokesman further stated that 85 deaths due to reaction of the medicines had so far been confirmed.
As many as 360 patients suffering from the drug’s reaction are still admitted in various hospitals including 57 in Jinnah Hospital, 22 in Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, 171 in Services Hospital, 16 in Lahore General Hospital and 81 in Mayo Hospital.
Moreover, two patients are under treatment in Allied Hospital Faisalabad and four in Shaikh Zayed Hospital Lahore. While two patients each are under treatment in WAPDA Hospital Lahore, Nishtar Hospital Multan and DHQ Hospital Narowal and one patient in DHQ Hospital Layyah.
Meanwhile, 37 patients affected by reaction of PIC medicines have recovered and have been discharged from various hospitals during the last 24 hours.
The total number of patients who have recovered from the drug’s reaction has reached 301, including 32 patients from Jinnah Hospital, 215 from Services Hospital, three from LGH, 22 from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and 27 from Mayo Hospital.
