UMERKOT, Jan 20: The district and sessions judge sentenced four convicts to life imprisonment in a murder case here on Friday.

Police said a man, Rahmatullah Kapri, was killed in 2009 in a clash between two rival groups of Kapri community over irrigation water. A murder case was registered at Kunri police station against Mohammad Khan, Mohammad Fazal, Urs and Mohammad Ajmal on the complaint of Muhammad Shafi, father of the deceased.

The district and sessions judge Shaukat Ali Memon found them guilty and awarded life imprisonment to the four convicts along with Rs50,000 fine imposed on each.

They will undergo an additional imprisonment of a year in case of failure to pay fine.
