SHIKARPUR, Jan 14: A woman was killed and eight other people, including two policemen, were injured when a passenger coach was fired at by bandits on the Humayoon-Thul road near the village of Mian Sahib on Friday night.

Seven bandits fired on the Quetta-bound coach coming from Kandhkot when its driver did not stop it.

As a result Kulsoom Soomro, 35, of Quetta, died on the spot. Eight occupants of the coach, including driver Abdul Sattar Dayo, passengers Noor Hassan, Abdul Qadeer, Noor Ahmed, Ali Jan and Yasin and two police constables, who had boarded the bus to protect it from highwaymen, received serious bullet injuries.

The injured policemen were identified as Ali Anwar Mahar and Ahmed Ali Mangi of Mian Sahib police station.
