LAHORE, Jan 9: A teenaged girl rescued from a prostitution gang met her family on Tuesday in the Lahore High Court. She was rescued from the ring by the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) on the court orders.

The girl (whose name is being withheld to protect her honour) told the judge the kidnappers kept her in different cities and forced her into prostitution. She was rescued from a den in Malir, Karachi. Her father, Sajjad Masih, had filed a petition contending that her daughter was kidnapped from Lahore two years ago. He complained that the police did not help him find his daughter.

The court had directed CIA Superintendent of Police Umar Virk to recover the girl.

DIRECTIVE: The Lahore High Court on Monday directed the capital city police officer to recover and produce on Tuesday (today) a kidnapped man, who was witness in a murder-cum-kidnapping for ransom case. Tariq Mahmood, of Misri Shah, petitioned that his 13-year-old son, Hamza, was kidnapped for ransom on May 7, 2011. IIe said kidnappers killed his son despite receiving Rs400,000 ransom.

The police though arrested the suspects but later colluded with them to kidnap Asif, who happened to be the sole witness of the murder of his son, he added.

The petitioner said the police were pressurising him into making a compromise with the suspects. He prayed to the court to order the police to recover Asif and produce him in the court.
