KARACHI, Jan 8: Punters have a field day as outsiders won a lion’s share of events in a seven-race card of the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

Mare Sada Bahar was the only favourite besides two co-favourites Jungle De Malka and After Shock that obliged punters.

Outsider mare Salome Baby sprang first surprise by getting the better of filly Jal Pari by two lengths to land the opener. Public fancy mare Tripple Star had to be content with third place finishing ahead of Shah Pari.

Unknown pedigree horses – Prince Of Renala and Easy Match – followed pursuit of outsiders in the last two races restricted to unknown pedigree horses.

The former lowered the colours of favourite Humsafar imposing to three-quarter-of-a-length victory in the sixth while the latter galloped to a fluent six lengths victory over fancied Quetta Queen in the next and concluding race.
