TIMERGARA, Jan 3: A resident of Banda Talash village has demanded of the chief justice of Peshawar High Court, inspector general police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Lower Dir administration to reopen the murder case of his daughter and provide security to his family. Speaking at a news conference at the Timergara press club on Tuesday Fazal Ghafar said his young and married daughter Mehnaz was killed by her husband, Rahatullah, on Dec 23, 2011 in her house.

He said Ajmal Khan, a schoolteacher and brother of Rahtullah along with Yousaf Khan were the eyewitnesses of that murder. Fazal Ghafar said after the killing they were forced to sign a deal with the culprit’s family. “My and my wife’s signatures and thumb impressions were taken on a paper at gunpoint,” he said, adding his family was not ready to accept that deal.
