ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday recorded their protest against gas shortages while Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) against price hike by walking out from the National Assembly’s session, DawnNews reported.

PML-N leaders, Sardar Mehtab, Tehmina Daultana, Birjees Tahir and Malik Abrar, on a point of objection during the NA session, said that the concerned ministers and department have failed in overcoming the gas shortages from the country.

Whereas, the Federal Minister on Religious Affairs Khurshid Shah said 14 per cent hike in gas prices was ‘not that much.’

Shah defended 14 per cent increase in gas prices by calling it “a step towards striking equilibrium between petrol and gas.”

The minister said gas shortage was faced every year and there was nothing new about it.

He claimed that people were being brought on roads by conspirers and said “no matter how the situation turns out to be, this government will not quit.”
